Founder's Notes: December 2023

Hi my dear friends,

This year, we have so much to be grateful for. Thanks to your generosity and support, thousands of people have opened their mailboxes to find a thoughtful handwritten note that sparks joy, love and light. So a big-hearted thanks to you all.

One of the best things about Occasionally Speaking greetings is that our quotations speak for themselves, often expressing just the right sentiment at just the right time. Words have the power to spark connection, inspiration, and joy, which are the very things that fuel our passion here at Occasionally Speaking.

Speaking of joy, from time to time we meet like-minded creatives, on similar journeys, who value the art of the handwritten word and share in the Occasionally Speaking mission of connecting people in meaningful ways. When I met writer Colleen Newquist, we connected as kindred spirits from the start, each of us with art in our hearts!

Our journeys have been woven together since. As we prepare to enter a brand new year, I'm delighted to announce the launch of our blog, featuring Colleen as our guest writer.

Each month Colleen will share musings from her journal Stop and Smell the Butter where she lives out loud, authentically inspiring and using her words—liberally sprinkled with quotes—to Scatter Joy.

Enjoy her first essay here.
